“I put a lot of miles on my car searching all over to find this dress for my junior prom. Of course, it wasn’t until the last store, in the last mall in the state of New Jersey, when I found it, glistening under track lighting. With its ruffled taffeta and turquoise color, it made me feel like the belle of the ball. I wound up wearing it to another prom in a nearby town and then my best friend wore it to her boyfriend’s senior prom. After all these years, I still have it stored in my parents’ closet. By the way, my date was not sporting long hair, even though the shadow on the curtain gives that illusion.”
